    Another Retro of sort

A while back, I decided to build an A2 Commando. I had the A2 upper for a while until I made a decision as to what to do with it. I finally got down to brass tacks and sourced a 11.5" 1/7 Gov't profile barrel (Daniel Defense) from Steve at ADCO Firearms. He was kind enough to install the FSB, endcap, barrel nut, A2 FH, and Delta ring assembly. He shipped me a sling swivel with it. I still need to install it once I get the pin and rivet. Not sure which I want to use. The handguards are not correct as they are 7-hole versions, but I had them laying around. Since this is not a 100% correct build, it is not a big deal. The CAR stock assembly is a 4-pos. from Model 1 Sales. They are mil-spec dimensioned. I have used the stock bodies on a couple other retro builds. The lower is a DPMS that I had registered several years ago as a SBR. I did have it on my Mk18 CQBR. The Mk18 is getting a new Nodak Spud A1 lower as soon as I get the stamp for it.

Many of these retained the bayonet lug even though they could not be used for such. The early XM177 and some of the early 733s did not have the bayonet lug. If you recall, even the Mk18 CQBR uppers still had the bayonet lug as well.

Here are pics of the finished product. Now with the front sling swivel installed. I went the rivet route. Pretty easy to install with the right tools. BTW, this thing shoots great. Got it out to the range yesterday morning and I was elated that it did so well. Another successful build.
