No experience with the GDI M4 mount, but I do have their Aimpoint micro mount and ACOG mount and they are fantastic. Also check out the Bobro mount, I like them just as much, if not more than GDI

I really love everything Bobro just think it is a little low almost an absolute. I have a LaRue new in bag sitting here but still considering ordering the gdi.

Are you using the Aimpoint spacer?

Not a fan of GDI. Lack of precision design is my complaint.

Yeah but even with the spacer it seems to sit a tad bit lower than the LaRue. I just hate the LaRue clamping system.

That may be the first I have ever heard that statement. How so? I have heard nothing but great things but hefty price tag. You have had a bad experience with one?

Every single mount I have handled from them is canted. It took around 20+ clicks to bring my T2 back in line when I swapped from Bobro to GDI to Scalarworks. Bobro/LaRue/Scalarworks was almost a "drop on" with a few clicks. GDI was grossly off. The mount sat visibly canted on the top rail. My NF mil-spec Unimount, several LaRue's, a few Bobro's, and a couple of Scalarworks mounts have all somehow managed to sit perfectly flat on said rail...

But maybe it was just mine?

No, I checked one out that a friend had. His was crooked, too. It's just how it's made, apparently. now granted these are T1/T2 mounts, but if you can't get that right...can you get a tube-optic mount right? I dunno. I won't pay $475 to find out, either.

I e-mailed Marko about it, as well, and he has declined (for the past several months) to respond to said E-mail, so it is what it is, I sought redress, none was made, I dumped the mount and GDI owes me nothing, so this isn't an attempt at restitution, it's an explanation of why I'm not about their mounts. That said, I HAVE spoken to Marko in the past, and he's a good guy, I just have better ways of spending my money than on GDI's mounts.

The cross-bolt is jammed into the surface of the rail, and it is not equal on both sides. Marks on the rail confirm that this is what caused the cant, as best I could see.

Bobro has the best clamping system, based on force exerted on the rail. Unless you want to talk "permanent" and not QD.
