If the Cole TAC failed after 200 rounds, how would that make it better than the Manta?
The Manta has shown the ability to deal with significantly greater round counts and directly applied point heat.

The Cole TAC looks like a nice cover. Seems well built and aesthetically pleasing, and that type seems to work fine for low density fire.
The Manta, on the other hand, looks like a 1960's Space Race bedroom toy, but is extremely resistant to heat/burning/melting.

Yes, this is what I'm surmising. Why wouldn't it be the case if they put that disclaimer on there themselves?

Not sure why they say that, but it isn't because the cover is going to melt to the suppressor.

However, last time I was out with my SPR, I was noticing that I was getting these weird bursts of mirage. Was shooting for groups at 100m in 45ish degree weather, and the mirage would periodically flare up to the point that I had to wait in order to shoot. Finally I got annoyed with it and took the cover off. Not only did the bursts of mirage go away, but it also reduced the POI shift from the unsuppressed POA. So now I've said '**** it' and left that thing off my cans. Not sure what to do with it now.
    Wow, that sucks!
I also use this can on a 16" recce-ish build with a 1-6x. However, I've not used the supcov with that 16" yet. Now I've gotta go see if I have the same problem you did. Damn.
The POI shift on my 11.5" is not affected with the use of the cover.
What do you attribute the additional POI shift to? The cover doesn't weigh much, especially compared to the weight of a suppressor.

Yes, that is pretty impressive. I'd like to see the same test with the Bowers item.

There's a lot to consider with all the options listed - functionality, price and looks.

While I agree that the Manta looks like some freaky deaky sex object I wouldn't be opposed to running one on a dedicated suppressed SBR if it proves as durable and heat resistant as real-world hands-on T&E has demonstrated.

Honestly not sure, but it was a noticeable and measurable difference. With the cover on, the POI shift going from suppressed to unsuppressed was about .75mil at 100m or so. When I finally took the cover off, it dropped to .5mil. There may have been other variables in play, but my experience with my Surefire cans has always given me a very consistent POI shift with/without a can on. I got the can cover initially since it looked neat and I wanted to try it out rather than solve any mirage issues. I've never experienced mirage as bad as I did with those bursts of it that day with that cover on.

I use the rifles only HAD

I wasn't a fan of suppressor covers. But this one allows me to handle hot cans without issue. It is important with this cover to get it tight. Rifles Only even did a video showing how to properly tighten it.

    60rds at a time.
