I had one for a short time only, but I never had to adjust it going from 1-6.

    Hi Jonathan

Our K15i is only available with the G4B reticle. Since the K16i has be far more popular we do not plan to create new reticle designs for the K15i.
The differences between our K16i and the K15i are only reticle selection and the six times zoom v.s. 5 x zoom.
Auto Illumination shut off is on the K16i and it automatically shuts off after 4 hours. The K15i does not have this feature.

Battery life is about 50 hours at high power continuous and 350 hours at the lowest setting.

    Thank you

    Hello Jonathan

Thank you for your inquiry on our K16i. This model will shut off after 4 hours if no adjustment to the illumination is made.
Our Helia 5 line for hunting has other options but the K16i is intended for competition use so it just has the 4 hour auto shut off feature.

    Thank you

I am reading on a competition oriented site that this was something that was commonly experienced with the k16i as well as the Trijicon VCOG.
Mine is still in Europe, so I have not had time on MY personal K16i, but I did own a VCOG, and it was terrible about this. The k16i that I handled did NOT exhibit this issue.

Incredibly helpful info all, thank you.

I am sure the battery life will depend on what your needs are in terms of brightness. I don't recall noticing this on the K16i I was messing with a while back but I didn't spend much time with it in the bays. I remember turning it down to 1x and turning on the illumination and trying to see how it tracks with transitioning targets 50 yards and within with both eyes open. It felt as fast as my aimpoint at 1x with both eyes open.

Now I just have to figure out which mount to get for this thing. I don't like shooting nose to charging handle and like my stock extended 3 clicks out. With that said, this will be my first variable so I'm not 100% sure thats the right way to go. QD would be nice though as I may transition between a couple of rifles.

    WS6,

May I ask why your optic is still in Europe ?

You may ask, and so did I, but I'm not sure the answer I got was complete, if that makes sense. As best I can understand, there was a shipping/production allocation error. Not a technical problem or manufacturing issue.

I hope it makes it to you soon. I should have mine in a couple of weeks.

It's gonna spend some time between my 16" Noveske and KAC SR15 at some local matches with me until I get comfortable with it. If it works out I will take it through some training classes this fall.

I was told in a couple of weeks, as well. Sounds like we got in the same boat, lol

FYI, I tested my K16i, and the auto shut-off is at EXACTLY 2 hours, to the minute. I then tested it by setting the scope on the occular for 5-10 minutes, and then on the objective for 5-10 minutes, vertical both ways, if you will. It did NOT shut off due to these motion-less times at said extreme angles.

I also wanted to note, that it will shut off at 2 hours regardless of usage profile. Changing brightness does not re-set the 2 hour timer. It's a hard-stop 2 hour timer. Full off/back on is the only re-set.
