I know that article circulated a few weeks ago, but what does "floated" even mean?

I think it came from a High School newspaper.

You're right, homey. Throw in the towel!

    LOL

What does "from national polling" mean? The agenda driven national polling that was paid for to show that Big Bad Trump will bring the bigtop crashing down on the whole shitty circus?

He will. But that chart is nonsense based on nonsense.

If he can, then it would be beyond impressive. However, stranger things have happened.
Please note the winner of all those races (with the exception of 1992 GHWB vs. Clinton) had HIGHER unfavorables, actually making the case against your argument.

Be that as it may, it would be akin to Ronaldus Magnus putting GHWB on the ticket in 1980, concilliatory in nature appeasing both confused "conservatives" who liked Rubio & Neocon's (establishment) alike.

If nothing else, now is the time to unify.

It does not matter if the republican nominee is your guy or not. If you like that guy or not. Let's assume for a minute it is Trump. If you don't vote for him, you will get Hillary, and none of us want that.

You need to vote against Hillary. She is a petulant child who wants her turn on the pony. Whatever damage Benito Mussolini Obama hasn't done she will surely do and you can say goodbye to many freedoms, including your guns.

Unify against Hillary. Stop her. If that means you vote for a guy you don't like then so be it.

    Stop Hillary.

I was making an observation, not an argument. Here is the article that discusses that figure:

    http://www.vox.com/2016/5/2/11565194...mp-unfavorable

The author makes a few good points. First, no one has been > 50% "strongly disapprove" so it will be interesting to see how he recovers that much ground. Second, most of those winners with higher disapproval numbers were incumbents and the disapproval was usually within the MOE.

I think that we will know a lot by July how this is going to go. If Trump has not significantly cut into that 50+% by the convention, then he will have a rough Fall. Another key factor will be funding. Trump does not have the liquidity to self-fund his general election campaign. I'm curious to see how his donations progress - both big and small.

Trump is not only the GOP's last hope, but America's. If Hitlery gets in, welcome to hell. If Cruz gets in (HAHAHA), just more of the same slide towards economic disaster, tyranny, demographic replacement, 3rd world importation, etc. that we've had for the last several decades and more.
Oh for Chrissake, I think I'm gonna puke. You guys really drink the Kool-Aid don't you? Yeah, I'll vote for him but "America's last hope"? Get real.

If Trump wins the election and ends up not living up to his rhetoric I'll be sure to point that out to you staunch Trumpies.

I said way back that I'd only vote for a non-Establishment guy. No more RINO's for me, and I don't care who would win as a result. The two biggest non-Establishment guys were Cruz and Trump. Cruz was my choice but he's out. That leaves Trump (unfortunately) so I'll live up to my word on voting for him. If there are shenanigans at the convention and some RINO parachutes in to save the day (Romney, Ryan, et al) then I will, for the first time in my voting life, skip the POTUS lever altogether.

True enough, but I don't think we've ever seen a Democrat nominee with an "unfavorable" rating that high either. At the end of all of this, it looks like it's going to depend on which of the two can modify their "unfavorable" rating the most.

I agree on both points, although I'd probably give more credence to the polling after the GOP convention. The GOP is starting to at least talk a good game about unifying behind Trump. I'm interested to see the reactions of the party honchos wiggling around uncomfortably in the dark corners of the GOP closet. If they do turn out to be stupid enough to try to employ pre-convention or intra-convention "old-boy" shenanigans, then I'd have little choice but to agree with the conspiracy theorists in this thread.
