If you haven't figured out that the Establishment has been hard at work trying to bring Cruz in to the fold in order to guarantee a brokered convention you're behind the power curve.
Don't get me wrong, they're using Cruz and he's not going to get the nomination either.
Rowe is a perfect example of a non elected failure who has hung on to the fringes of the GOP, who is all Establishment and only conservative when it suits his needs. The pigs are at the trough, they dont want to move down either.

I know some on here think Cruz is secretly part of the establishment. I don't think he is and desperately hope they're wrong.

That being said, If I were Cruz, I'd let them "bring me in". I'd do whatever was necessary to win the nomination. I'd do whatever was necessary to win the general election. Then on Wednesday November 9th, I'd begin offering cabinet level positions to whoever brought me the most dirt on the GOP elite. I'd renege on every promise I made to win. I'd bring in the dirtiest, most corrupt political operators in existence and turn them loose on the GOP elite. On the day I swore in, I wouldn't stop signing Executive Orders until midnight, then I'd start in at 5AM the next day on their asses. I'd be the Genghis Mother****ing Khan to their Jin Dynasty. I'd rape their women, sack their mansions and burn their empires to the ground. Nothing would be off limits. There would be so much political bloodletting, bull sharks would patrol the Potomac. I wouldn't stop until the term "RINO" was extinct.

Every day I'd send them a cake shaped like the Roman Colosseum. Every night I'd slake my thirst with their tears. Whenever they feebly protested in public, I'd laugh at their pain. Yeah, I know it's a fantasy, but wouldn't it be marvelous?

What if "them" was Trump. What if Trump was the point man, first through the door?

To me it's the only thing in all this that makes sense. Do you honestly believe the GOP would 'take Cruz in' ? Hell no they wouldn't. They wouldn't yesterday and they won't tomorrow.

I still say to this minute that there is a symbiotic relationship between Trump and Cruz. I honestly don't know how it's set up. Is it a behind the scenes pact? Is Cruz the Remora riding on the Shark? Is the Trump/Cruz relationship a tactic of Cruz's?

Cruz would have had a below zero chance of being where he is today without Trump. Can you imagine how good Cruz is going eventually look following Trump and having the GOP fully exposed. Even Fox news is going to be nice to him after Trump cut into their savings account.

I agree with what you said but I still would not turn my back on the GOP. Nor would I believe any olive branch from them is anything but the trigger to a trap. They don't give away the cash cow.

there is something wrong with this whole Republican process that's been going on. I think Trump may know what it is. That doesn't mean he's the best choice for POTUS nor that he might be best commander for every battle, but he knows enough about the people involved to break them and expose them.

I think Cruz would be far better staying in Trumps wake than expecting favors from the GOP. It might be a rough ride but at least it's guaranteed forward motion. He hasn't even cleared 500 much less 1237. Not a good time to start making deals with the Devil.

If and after he gets in he can do anything he wants. Hang 'em all at noon but I damn sure wouldn't be taking an invite to their bed and breakfast at this point in the game.

Politics is about power and money. Anyone who is a threat to the "power and money" of those in office will be eliminated or relegated to a position of minor importance. Only those who come with their own power and money can effectively penetrate the establishment. This is the threat Trump brought with him and why everyone in the establishment is trying to hard to undermine him.

Hmmm, let's see. The economy is going to crash soon and he will eliminate our national debt in 8 years if elected. And, he is going to do this by renegotiating our trade deals so that we will not have to cut Social Security or Medicare. It must be nice to have an ego that is so completely unencumbered by reality.

BTW, where is that guy with the screen name nml? Just last week he was telling me in this thread that we will never be able to balance the budget, much less ease the debt.
