Good deals to be had on eBay

I know this has been discussed before but the thread was closed for some reason.

If you go to www.live.com and search for "Aimpoint" the page will come back with a link at the top to eBay and a "Live Search Cashback" button beside it. If you click on the link it will take you to eBay. From that point on you can search for any item on eBay and get 15% off(I got an X300 when it was %20 as it seems to change periodically) of any item you want. It can be anything from electronics to scopes. When you find an item you want click on the "Buy It Now" button and at the confirmation screen it will show you what your savings will be from Microsoft. If you don't see a savings that item does not have a % off so don't buy it!! My X300 will end up costing me $158 shipped after I get my $38 back from Microsoft. My friend got an Aimpoint ML3 for $320 shipped using this deal. Both of our items were brand new.

You have to set up an account with Microsoft Live to claim the money back and you get it in 60 days (this is to prevent people from getting returning the item for a refund and pocketing the cash back). If you have an MSN Live account then you only have to enter your mailing address to have a check mailed to you or your checking account info to have it direct deposited.

I got a CompM4 and ACOG TA33R-8 using this deal when it was 25% off. Works well and isn't a scam. If it goes back up to 25% I think I'll grab an Aimpoint Micro.

Has anyone actually received the refund yet? Just curious.

Yes. A lot of people. My money is sitting in my "cashback account" counting down from 60 days. It's not like a mail-in rebate where you hope a check shows up. Within 48 hours of buying on Ebay you see the rebate money show up in your account with a timer counting down. Once that is done you just transfer the money to your PayPal account and then do with it as you wish.

As much as I hate ANTI-GUN Ebay....it's not going to go away.
They are changing the RULES again, starting later this year
auction payments can only be made with EVIL Paypal or your Credit Card (via ebay checkout).
We will no longer be able to send a personal check, Cashiers Check or PMO to the seller.
For those of us that understand "electronic" payments, no problem.....but, there is whole American
generation out there that legally deals in CASH and trusts the USPS with our money.

That's not Ebay's fault. It's the scammers. Go try and sell an electronic item on Ebay right now. I tried to sell a notebook on there about a month ago and you can forget it. Nothing but scammers in Africa. Fake PayPal emails. Fake cashier's checks. They use hacked accounts so they appear in the US. You just can't win. Requiring immediate payment on something like PayPal will stop a lot of that.

    Totally Agree......
My post was to just give a head's up on changes to come....with a little venting.
I hope to stay safe with ebay and the internet by MY rules over the past few years.
#1 only pay for items with a Mastercard/Bank Debit card that has the minimum in the account to keep the account FREE charges.
#2 transfer $$ into that account when purchases are made.
Use that one card only for internet purchases

Cool. I'll have to look into this further. Would definitely be worth it on a higher priced item like an Aimpoint. 25% off would be significant. Thanks for the info.
