vortex razor Gen 2...weight worth it?

How noticeable is the weight of the razor Gen 2 over a k16i, mk6, etc? Is the weight worth it? Or does it completely change how the weapon feels and handles?

I've had a Razor, as well as the MK6, and multiple other scopes.
To me it's noticeable when playing around with it, but when in use not so much.

How is the quality of the razor? Are the turrets mushy or firm? Illumination crisp? How does it stack up compared to others? Would I miss the mag adjustment "fin" on my K16i and need to get a throw lever?

Excellent turrets on my sample. Illumination is like an aimpoint. Seriously. You can make it so bright that it blooms or turn it down where it's still daylight visible and crisp. The magnification ring is stiff. I'm debating a throw lever on mine.

Yes, it weighs a lot. All that glass is probably why the eye box is so comfortable, the 1x feels like 1x, and the field of view is large compared to other 1-6 offerings. All I can say is that to me, the weight is worth it, and it's not like throwing a 25oz suppressor on the end of your barrel. At least the weight is centered on the rifle.

TY! I could probably afford this, a mount, and a case or two of M193 after dumping my K16i. heavily considering.

Agree on all points, I'd say get a throw lever.

The MK6 is just so light, I put mine on my SCAR17 and it is a perfect match.

Regardless of position, I couldn't see throwing a heavy scope on such a light rifle.

I agree with Slippers on all counts.

I added a throw lever to mine and highly recommend one. First I tried the Vortex branded one but didn't like it. I thought it was too slender, it stuck out too far and poked me in the gut, and it slipped out of place a couple of times. I replaced it with one from 3 gun stuff. It doesn't look quite as nice and it's made of plastic, but from a functional standpoint it's superior in every way to the first one I tried.

You could always tie wrap something that weights 8.3 oz to your K16i to get an idea of the weight difference. The Kahles has 11.7 ft. wider field of view on 6x . On 1x the Kahles is 20.1 ft and the Vortex Razor Gen 2 is 20.5 ft.
I prefer the Kahles but the Vortex is easily the better value, IMHO.

My K16i just fails to impress. Looking at other options.
