It is well worth the weight, but I'm not one to be overly concerned about weight.
I've been extremely impressed with mine. The HD glass is exceptional for the price.

Sample size of only one I've had in my hands:
-build quality seems great, as expected
-optical quality was good, but didn't impress me. It seemed equal to a Leupold VX-6 1-6x I had at the same time, and inferior to a Mark 6 1-6x I also had at that time.
-to me, playing around with the rifle with the optic on it, weight was very noticeable. It's not out front, but it is top-heavy.
-red dot was everything it's claimed to be - intensely bright
-controls were solid but stiff:
---The magnification ring required fairly high effort and you would want a lever to move it quickly.
---The illumination control is, IMHO, overboard in preventing accidental movement, and I didn't like the sharp triangles on - just too pointy and pokey.
---The turrets are a good balance between low profile and movable for turrets that aren't meant to be dialed much. Dialing is not intended (for this or most other 1x scopes) and it would be clumsy to do.
