New to forum here's my 7.62x39 build

So I originally started as a 5.56 build but I ordered a .308 kx5 on accident. The kx3/kx5 seems like knock off Bulgarian 4 piece flash hider and this helped me decide to switch to the ak round because I already had a huge pile of it. This was going to be my fun, take to the mountains and shoot stuff gun.

I had to cut down a 16" barrel since nobody makes 13.7" barrel in 7.62x39. But other than that it was all just bolt together.

Since I wanted to keep with the ak idea I found a crosshill side charging upper with a NiB bcg. But I still needed a bolt. So I got a colt bolt from gunbroker. After that it went pretty easy. It was Cerakoted Barret Bronze before t was ever assembled.

This handgaurd gets really hot to at the carbine gas block so I had to install the Noveske covers.

    Here's what else I used:
    V seven buffer tube
    Lmt sopmod stock
    Bcm pistol grip
    H1 buffer
    V seven end plate
    Larue mbt trigger
Lower was branded by local gun shop (a3)
    Crosshill LH side charger upper
Noveske 13.5 NSR key mod rail
Colt 7.62x39 barrel chopped and threaded by me
    Syrac adjustable gas block
    Noveske KX5
    Magpul sights
Aimpoint T-1 on a larue mount

Best of both worlds. Good job and welcome!

If I could get a lower that accepted ak mags it would be perfect. I had some problems with 7.62 ar mags feeding. I solved it with stiffer magazine springs. But still ak mags would have been the right way to do it.

Thank you. I'm aware of the existence one them. Just not interested in spending that much on one.

That looks pretty sweet, not gonna lie. While I have been skeptical of x39 in ARs and side charging ARs, your build does look really nice and fun to shoot.
I am curious about your barrel. Is it chrome-lined? If so, isn't cutting it a bit risky due to the possibility of damaging the chrome lining?
