    LOL @ thread

Absolutely nothing wrong with having covers on an optic. Anybody that says differently is an idiot.

    I certainly agree with that.

Indeed. Looking forward to having something for the MRO - it's doing fine without covers but I'll join the "not shooters" crowd and gets some to protect them just a little bit more.

I consider my self an avid shooter. and would much prefer a set of caps for when its not inuse. why not keep em clean and dust free when not in use?

A simple cover made from a piece of an old bicycle or motorcycle inner tube will do what you want and cost practically nothing.

This is an excellent idea. I'm glad to see someone offer a solution for the OP instead of making jokes. Kinda like the old days on M4C.

Quite a big difference from wanting and needing. I had covers on my aim point, and all they did was add one more layer to overcome when making the rifle ready to shoot. Precision optics are generally not on rifles used to quickly defend oneself. In the case of the OPs, if he think it will make his life easier, the inner tube idea sounds like it would fit the need.

    Butler Creek Blizzards.

I had these on both sides of a TA33. Worked just fine up. Lots of rain and mud during a Seattle carbine class, the covers worked well until the mud got on them, then I flipped them down and kept shooting.

When I get old I am going to cover my couch with plastic so you young punks don't mess it up.
