    Question appleseed. who's done it?

    + cheap
    + 2 days on weekend
+ usually visit your locale so no long drives
+ no crazy equipment required (.22 LR will suffice).

guess there's really no downside if the time isn't spent more productively.

guess this is targeted at beginners, but ... i'm always willing to learn something new.

    your thoughts appreciated.

    I'll let you know

I'm going to one next saturday, over by Terre haute.

Hope it's good, I know it won't compare to Tom's MP 5 class

The Appleseed is all about basic marksmanship and fundamentals. It is not a course about "fighting" with your weapon. I had a good time when I attended, and relearned somethings I had forgotten, or taken for granted.

It's derivative of high power shooting. Meaning you tie your support arm up with a tight sling and load the magazines to the gun with your non-dominant hand. This is vastly difference from what you learn at any carbine class, where you use the support hand to load magazines and such while always maintaining a firing grip with your strong hand.

I went to an Appleseed and had fun. Nice folks, and at the time .223 ammo was less than $200 for 1000 rounds of quality surplus ammo. I may have used 500 rounds for 2 days which at the time translated to $50 worth of ammo. That made it more fun than I could have realized at the time.

Tom runs a fun MP5 class. Would love to do it again.

There is one coming to the West Coast of Florida in October. My wife is going to sign up. I may sign up because I just found out today that I can forget about using my left arm for shooting for quite a while. So Im going to have to learn to shoot right handed. I figure this would be as good an opportunity as any.

I found Appleseeds to be a great way to "tune-up" longer range shooting skills.
