I have been using a BCM PNT trigger in one of my SBRs a lot lately. It feels like an ACT. I'm not sure I could tell the difference if I was blindfolded. I've never used the Sionics trigger but many say it's also comparable to the ALG.
I think it's safe to say that all three, ALG, BCM, and Sionics, are all very similar.

Is that more like the Hedgehog or more like the Drive-In?

Yes. FWIW, I have four of the ACTs in use, I have two of the PSA polished triggers in use, and I've had two of the Spike's "Battle Trigger" in the past. I have found more variations within any of those brands (including ALG) than between the worst of one of them and the worst of another. All of them seem to improve a bit from use (break-in). Without having touched the BCM or Sionics, I'm going to speculate they will be the same. In every case it's still a GI trigger with its less than ideal geometry, and they're all coated with similar slick treatments (not exactly the same for all, and the quality of the coating may vary). I will bet you that if you got 10 of any one brand and measured the pull weight like Geissele does you would see 10 variations in profile. But they would all be pretty close, and plenty good enough for the intended use. If you can't accept minor variation between two triggers, you need to get a Geissele SSA or similar, where multiples of the same model feel exactly the same.

"Vaunted" huh? Most prissy. Not vaunted, just a known quantity since my SIL has experienced 2 of them and wants his to be at least as good. Me too.

Thanks all for the replies. I'm going to get a Sionics and install it. If my SIL doesn't like it, we'll wait for the BCM for his build.

Like I said earlier, I got some hands on time with the Sionics this past weekend. It is very good. Every bit as good as any ALG I've used before. In my opinion, BCM isn't the "standard" in improved milspec triggers. They are still very new in that regard and availability is extremely limited. ALG has been around longer. And Sionics has been doing them longer than even BCM.

The bottom line is that these companies are all getting the base milspec trigger from the same vendors. They don't make them in house. They don't coat them in house either. And because these are milspec triggers, they will still have variations in pull weight, etc. But they are 10X better than any milspec in terms of feel and pull weight, in my opinion. I doubt that you'll be disappointed with the Sionics vs the BCM.

Happy so far with my BCM not Geiselle but better than my STD GI triggers.

There are several place to find them, BCM, AIM, Brownells--all OOS at the time though. I got mine from AIM surplus with free shipping, though they are OOS now.

The biggest difference in most of these is what the various manufacturers choose to use as a coating. Personally, I'm not really interested in anything that incorporates NiB.

It wouldn't surprise me if some or all of these enhanced mil-spec triggers came from the same supplier.

A lot of them do. That's why if you look at some of the generic or not-Colt-but-still-name-brand stuff out there they have same markings, minus the "C" sometimes seen on some Colt parts. Colt doesn't trash what doesn't meet their standards or the standards of the TDP, they sell it. Lots of parts named as "mil-spec" or "mil-contract" are items that were contract/supplier parts but they failed and were rejected.

And alot of the parts are not rejects, but are sourced directly from the same manufacturer that produces parts for Colt.
