    over gased?

Which buffer tube is it running? There's a letter stamped on the front easy to see.

Is it running a brake/comp or a2 flash hider?

I'm going to guess he's using a very light buffer, if it's a carbine buffer try an H, load a single round in a the mag a handful of times making sure the system still locks the bolt back when empty

I've never seen a 16 mid run harder than a car, should be smoother setup right

i will look at the buffer and get back to you. i went with the 16 mid thinking it would be smoother. it has the a2 flash hider.

It is a carbine buffer put in an H or even H2 buffer, it I still just a Band-Aid if your gas port is too large.

Other that being a "little harsh", what issues are you having?

    What malfunctions are you experiencing?

    1. That buffer is a carbine weight.
    2. "A little harsh" is rather subjective.

I have not had a single other issue yet round count is only at 300 so far. I don't want to mess it up only improve. I need to get back to the range and pay attention to where my brass is landing. I am new to the ar platform and still trying to learn.

    I had a similar issue with a sbr .
I ended up replacing standard carbine buffer spring with a springco heavy spring.
No more issues , I think the spring was like $15 - $20

My daughter's PSA lower also came with that carbine buffer. It took an H2 to tune it back where I wanted it. Sure, the rifle may be overgassed, but if it operates reliably with a heavier weight buffer what does it matter?

    I agree with this.

Some manufacturers spec their barrels' gas ports to be able to shoot the weakest ammo that can be had. It can be compensated for in a number of different ways, but reliability of the rifle is paramount.
