I don't know about the rolled threads, the are pretty sharp cornered, but the tube is sweated in.
If I were going to stick a standard barrel on it, I think I'd rather have an aluminum sleeve at least, over a pvc one. Plastic compresses much too easy, and could split. Yes, the bolt locks directly into the barrel extension, but you still wouldn't want the barrel moving around during firing.
As opposed to just using the 18.5" barrel with a different choke. Not sure of how turkey loads would perform in that barrel. Many loads fully burn the powder well before 18" anyway. I don't hunt turkey, so don't know about the loads for it.
