I admit I am not an expert on bullet construction but if all Russian steel case ammo uses a steel jacket it would seem to me to backup the claim by some that it shortens barrel life. Surly a steel jacket is harder on the barrel than a all copper jacket.

Yes, that's why they are magnetic.

I actually picked up a few boxes of tulammo. 223 today just to plink with and had the same thing... I was like wtf.. lol but I went thru 4 / 30 round mags of this stuff and didn't have any issue.. groupings at 100 yards was decent too..

I have two Windham Weaponry Ar's, one is the carbon fiber and one is the mpc...both have the same barrel, which is the 4150 chrome moly vanadium... 1 n 9 twist
