That being said, I use Gen M3 Pmags myself because Pmags hold up to partially loaded drops and being stepped on a lot better than aluminum.

Would I go to war with 7 new Centers, Brownells, or Okays? Absolutely.

Apparently OP has never stepped on a g.i. mag...
The point is, when buying GI style mags, you gotta know the secret code to pick good mags. Instead of trying to remember which mags are good and have the right followers, I avoid all that by buying P mags. No secret handshake or decoder ring required or checking their passport. Just grab a P mag and whip out the cash

    Nope, I don't walk.

Because of their tremendous reputation, the soldiers of the old guard were permitted liberties which would not have been tolerated in other units. When Napoleon met Tsar Alexander of Russia at Tilsit in 1807 he pointed to a terribly scarred Grenadier. "What do you think of men who can endure such wounds?" he asked. " and what do you think of men who can inflict them?" replied the Tsar. "They're all dead!" interjected the Grenadier, settling the issue once and for all.

you'll think "heft" is bs after humping 10 of them a few hundred miles. Keep the heft let me shave off all the ozs I can, cause real quick, the savings is 10 lbs and the resulting reduction in fatigue can mean your life. No, I don't step on my mags. I dont use my rifle barrel to break straps on air-dropped ammo pallets, either.

That is about the most retarded thing I have read all week.

    And this thread is retarded.

Professional gunmen have no problem getting real OEM aluminum magazines.

They take up less space. They are no less reliable than a p mag and they weigh less.

They are faster coming out of magazine pouches because they don't have any ribbing on them.

No more retarded than buying a Colt 6920 because it works.

I don't say don't buy GI mags, I'm just saying buying P Mags is the easy button for me. I've got a bunch of GI mags, but after going through them and replacing followers, springs and so on, I came to the conclusion that it was easier to just unwrap a Pmag.

I'm not a professional gunman. Pmags suite my situation fine

To each their own, we got tired of our USGI magazines functioning poorly in Iraq and most of us bought Pmags. Now I run aftermarket aluminum mags and haven't had any problems. Experiences vary.

I bought a lot of lancer mags because usgi mags didn't want to feed 55 grain bullets into my rifle 100% of the time. Pmags & Ets mags also eliminate the problem. I have since then tried to smooth things out where the bullet was catching (and also bought a bcm upper) but my distrust remains. If you've never seen this problem then it's not something you need to fix.

There's also the durability consideration, which for me personally is only part of the conversation because the threat of future bans. Usgi mags can't compete with modern mags in abusive tests. If I can't replace a mag I need it to be unbreakable.

If you have found a mag that's Unbreakable, please tell me where I can get some.

From what I understand, the original aluminum 'GI' magazines were supposed to be a disposable item. Lots of work has gone into making newer magazines more reliable over time, because in reality most magazines have a service life far beyond the time it takes to burn through their capacity only one time. That's not to say that aluminum magazines aren't as good as plastic ones, but all types have undergone design improvements over time.

As with all things, once you find what works for you stick with it until you find something that is truly better.

Well, from where I'm sitting free healthcare seems to be getting lots of traction among the dindus and 20 year old women's studies majors.

But what the **** do I know. I just want whiskey that has Pappy in the name.
Why do the loudest do the least?
