Never, repeat, never have had a problem with nhtmg 20 and 30 Rd magazines. 30 Rd gen 2 and 3 magpuls have been fine. Had couple gen 2 20 Rd magpuls that refused to work. Anymore I just stick with okay/nhtmg mags.
My thoughts are pretty simple.
All mags are disposable. All mags can fail.
I have had a couple of Brownells mags that refuse to drop from any of my lowers. Supposedly good mags.
I've had the baseplate retainer on a Colt branded mag break without any serious use and abuse.
I've had PMAGS that didn't lock the bolt back. Magpul fixed those for free.
I've seen plenty of mags that have been damaged or worn out.
To me, USGI mags work fine but tend to be a bit more fragile.
I don't know if the polymer in the PMAGS will degrade over time.
So my formula is simple:
Gen2 PMAGS are my practice/training mags.
Gen3 PMAGS are my go-to mags.
USGI are my long term storage mags.
This thread is going in circles.

Excellent thread on the topic of mags. Not a closure or a "use the search" comment, just a thread reference.

I used to use PMAGS but had one too many mag related problems, including cracked and broken feed lips, etc.
USGI mags all the way for this guy.
Do whatever you want, but the PMAG is more marketing hype than anything else.
