    700 LTR?

    Gentlemen,
I am interested in this rifle and would like your input based on your experiences. How was out of the box accuracy? how far have you shot it? and anything else you like or dislike.
    Thanks in Advance.

    LTR

I love my LTR in .308. (Picture is in the build thread).

Compared to the full PSS I've heard people claim that the LTR is more accurate at shorter ranges (<300yds) due to it's stiffer barrel but at longer ranges with the less velocity it's better to go for a full length barrel.

Mine has proven to be .5 MOA (and I'm not the best shooter) out to 600yds.

Unless I was going to be shooting a lot at 1000yds I'd get this one over the full PSS.

Just received mine (.308) a couple weeks ago. Ordered the package deal from SniperCountryPX.com, which came complete with a nice case, cleaning supplies, log book etc. They were very good to deal with and can offer some customization on the packages. The package was a good option for me because I am a precision rifle newbie, and had no idea what I needed to start out.

Have not made it to the range with it rifle yet as the scope I ordered is at least two months out on the build (US Optics SN-3 3.2-17 TPAL). I may take it out sooner just to get a feel for it.

I read many good things about the accuracy of the fluted 20" barrel. I wanted something shorter as I am having it threaded for an incoming AAC 762-SD. After that, probably a Mcree's stock system. I have seen some complaints about the newer Remington trigger system, but I am so unaccomplished that I apparently can't recognize how bad it is (if it is truly that bad). My inexperienced trigger finger found the trigger relatively crisp with little creep. Pull weight is around 4 lbs I am guessing. I plan on using it in a LE role, so I will likely leave the trigger alone.

Also check out the Remington SPS Tactical as an option to save some $$$ if you plan on replacing the stock anyways.

I"ve had one for a couple of years now. Mine seems to be as accurate as my issued PSS, but the PSS is a bit easier to shoot, at least from supported positions. The LTR is much handier to carry around.
If I was to re-equip our dept. with new sniper rifles, they would be LTRs.

I forgot about this, as I upgraded to a Jewell trigger and set to 3lbs. The stock trigger was heavy and I didn't want to mess around with the remington trigger as some people have done. For the more mechanically inclined you might have good luck tuning the stock trigger.

LTR is GTG except for the trigger. Mine had a heavy pull weight, much heavier than my match AR that barely swings a 4.5# weight. Felt like pulling on an alternator belt until it broke. Budget another couple hundred for a Jewell trigger and drive on.

My LTR is a DBM model. It is an easy sub moa rifle. And before anyone asks...I've never had any problems with the mags,it runs like the energizer bunny!
Over the years it has become probably my favorite 'grab and go' gun due to its excellent low weight and accuracy.

I like it so much that I picked up a takeoff LTR barrel to build another and am presently waiting to get the barrelled action back from my smith so that I can get it into a McM Edge m40 {HTG} stock. This will be a standard BDL but I did have him put on an OPS-INC brake on it.

    Can't go wrong with an LTR...or 2!!

The trigger on mine was too heavy out of the box; I adjusted to around 3 1/2 or so.
