A 158 grain XTP with a full charge of 2400 should work just fine on anything 2 legged or 4 legged in Florida.

American Eagle 158 gr jsp works just fine, I've personally seen them take down a 300lb black bear.
A good hard cast bullet would be a better choice, but the jsp do work.

A reliable 357 mag load with a Hornady 180 gr XTP, or Speer 170 gr "Deep Curl" at a respectably high velocity should accomplish anything you need of it. I personally cast almost all of my bullets, but thats only vecause I can, and because buying bullets, and ammo gets expensive.
