Once I receive my new extractor and spring kit, then I'll document everything with pictures for everyone. It'll be here by Friday and I'll install it that evening.

No worries. I was curious to see if there was something detectable such as an off center extractor pocket, too deep, etc..

You should have ordered extra, these are the type of parts you should have laying around, that way you wouldn't have to wait for Friday.

I want to make sure this was the issue first, if not I'll be sending the upper back to them for repair. Out of all the parts I have laying around, I don't have anything BCG related, that'll change here pretty soon lol

Ok, I received my replacement extractor from BCM. I thought they would have sent me a mil-spec replacement but NOPE! They send me the BCM SOPMOD bolt upgrade! I wasn't expecting that! I broke the bolt down, wasn't very dirty, sub 100 rounds but I did find a bunch of brass shavings piled up on the extractor lip and where the extractor meets the bolt. I saw the extractor spring didn't have an o-ring from the factory (I know you don't HAVE to use the o-ring, some rifles like it, some don't) Nothing else looked out of place or worn/broken. Nice looking tooling marks, etc. So I really don't have an idea, maybe it was something so small I couldn't see...The SOPMOD's extractor compared to the Mil-spec looked identical (Maybe they are?) The SOPMOD spring was noticeably taller, thicker (just like its supposed to be) and I added the rubber o-ring. I had to use the two pieces of wood in my table vice like a lot of people have to use because it is THAT much stiffer. I through it back together and took it to the range (I only had 30min till close) I shot 120 rounds, not one problem! So I think it's fixed, until the next trip and I'll probably put 500rds or so through it before I'm comfortable saying its GTG.

the extractor spring in the BCM SOPMOD bolt rebuild kit (along with everything else in the kit) should be identical to the extractor spring that came installed in your original bcm bolt. BCM doesn't sell different extractors and extractor springs etc. If there is a difference between the original BCM components and the pieces that came in the BCM SOPMOD bolt rebuild kit, you should be concerned. Do you know the person(s) who sold you the rifle? Are you sure the new extractor spring etc is different?

Sorry, didn't read back through the pages.
HOWEVER, every BCM bolt I've ever examined, and I've examined around 18 or so, contains the exact same extractor spring that BCM sells in their SOPMOD rebuild kit. If you are telling me that you have received two different types of extractor springs from BCM...well...color me intrigued. The new spring is probably longer because it hasn't been compressed like the spring that you removed from the bolt.
The BCM bolt rebuild kit, based around the SOPMOD upgrade kits, just contains a normal BCM extractor, extractor spring, insert, extractor pin etc. Its not different from what comes stock in a standard BCM bolt. Does that make sense?

I never once doubted you on your expertise of BCM BCG's but here is the product info that was inside the package of the SOPMOD bolt repair/upgrade kit. I've since replied to BCM to tell them thank you for their help with this situation and asked if the spring provided was in fact the upgraded spring just to get an strait answer from BCM...
