    General purpose first build

This would be my first AR and I wanted a good all around general purpose rifle that was lightish. I originally had wanted to build the lower and buy a complete upper, but LaRue had a barrel sale last year and that plan went out the window. I also knew from my previous firearms, buy once, cry once, so I went with what I knew I would end up wanting. So far, I've put around 1600 rounds with zero issues and the rifle is a real shooter. I also need to give props to my friend Dentron, because he helped me from start to finish with this and I couldn't of done without his knowledge, tools and help. The rifle was built early last fall.

Excellent builds. I like everything about them. My current build and yours have quite a few things in common actually.

Thanks! You should post your build, I'm sure we would all like to see it.

I like it. It's machined well and it's fits on all three of my lowers with no play. The rail lock up is rock solid, if you wanted, you could probably use it as a bat.

Yes, this was my first AR and thank you. I did research for a very long time on it. I will have to post a better reply that is more detailed about parts and selection soon.
