    Newer XM193 and XM855 slower?

    Hello,

I recently moved back to a free state and can resume shooting. However, I have been out of the loop for 4 years and it seems the advertised velocities of Xm193 and XM855 are lower than they used to be. Did they start rating them at 16" barrels or somethign?

Without knowing specifics, I doubt anyone can answer your question but there are brands (Fusion MSR, for example) that have begun using 16" Barrels for reporting the velocity figures on the box.
Why do the loudest do the least?

I'm seeing a lot of the bulk packed Lake City XM193 advertised as 3165fps instead of 3250, same for the IMI stuff on Midway and other sites as well as XM855 as 3025 instead of 3100.

That IMI M855 looks quite nice in your data. I never had any even before but remember it having a reputation for being "hot" as well as accurate. I was almost tempted to buy this newer stuff IMI is selling but found it odd they had 3025 fps listed on the box. I am very particular about ammo and only want full powered, hot NATO level loads, no weak .223 type stuff.

Maybe I will try some if it and see if I can get my chrono working again. After two cross country moves though I think I've lost some of it.

Cuz it's usually loaded with Shitty bullets like SS109 or 55 gr FMJs.
