    Lightweight-ish 14.5" build

This is my sort of lightweight build I've been dreaming of for a while. Bought most of the parts individually as I thought assembling it would be half the fun. Almost went with a ballistic advantage 16" lightweight hanson profile barrel but decided to go with the more tried and true BCM instead in part because the 14.5 was on sale for 179.99. Probably would have been happy either way. Very few things in life are as cool as you imagined they would be. This build is one of them imo.
    Parts are as follows:
    -BCM stripped upper
-BCM standard 14.5" mid-length LW barrel
    -BCM gas block
    -BCM gas tube
-BCM mod 1 comp (pinned by ADCO)
-BCM buffer tube, castle nut, and end plate
-BCM H buffer and standard spring
    -BCM 13" kmr alpha rail
    -Colt bcg
    -Larue milspec CH
    -Spikes lower
    -DD LPK
-Magpul moe stock and k2 grip
-Bushnell trophy red dot (spent all my money on the upper and can't afford an aimpoint... yet)

Pretty basic lightweight setup. Really like the feel of it and it balances wayyy better than my 16" colt hbar. Now the question is whether to save up for an H-1 or PRO.

Looks good. In sticking with the lightweight theme, I'd recommend saving for the micro.

Is it a pretty noticeable weight difference from a balance standpoint? The thing I like about LW barrels is that they balance so much better. If the weight is more near the center of the gun, one would think it still will balance nice. In any event, the bushnell will get me by for a while. No need to rush.

Definitely H-1 for the size/balance. With the new H-2/T-2 out you can find H-1/T-1 for a great price. IMO the PRO is better suited for a standard size/weight carbine or a budget build. Plus the mount is just way too bulky and I don't trust the "torque free" knob. And the lens covers get in the way. For the price of buying a new mount you might as well buy an ACO instead of a PRO. If NV setting is a non-issue (and I assume it's not since you're considering H-1 instead of T-1), then a PRO is once again overkill.
But I digress...your build looks good and a micro will be a perfect optic for it. Just need some basic iron sights to make it complete. I believe Brownells still has black MBUS Gen2 on sale for $70 for the set.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Everything except price draws me toward the H-1. As for the BUIS, I was considering not even getting them because there is a 99.9% chance I will never need them considering how bulletproof aimpoints are. That being said, I don't know if I could trust polymer BUIS when metal ones are an option. I know its not rational and even hypocritical considering I love my polymer walther PPQ and trust my life on that...

yeah I wouldn't worry about that...steel sights can get banged up and break just like polymer depending on how you treat it. by that logic you should only have carbines with pinned FSP and original forged rear sight carry handle.

I know, its not a rational thing but I think it would eat at me. In any event, I'm going to save up for that aimpoint before I drop cash on BUIS, that is if I ever get them. Kind of like the clean look with just an optic and no BUIS.

I tried it to get mine as light as possible too. What did your weight end up at? I ended up running daniel defense fixed sights. Crazy light and amazing how well they work.

I wanted a LW carbine but I'm not counting ounces. It would be interesting to know though now that you mention it.... Doesnt that bother you having constant co-witness with irons? If I did get BUIS, I like the mbus pro and the kac variants because they look so tiny and unobtrusive.

Looks good. Needs a weaponlight, as I'm sure you know.
Me personally, I'd go with the aimpoint PRO over the H1.
