    Throat erosion following decoppering (use throat erosion gauge)
    Gas port erosion (using borescope from muzzle end)

    Sorry, nothing significant to add, I just have always found the wear there at higher round counts to be an interesting look at the nitty gritty of the operating system.

    It's not that the wear exists there, that's normal. It's how the wear can be compared and contrasted within different M-16 FOW platforms.

    Which is what I mean....do rifle length systems have less per round count? Longer tapers? Sbrs have more aggressive angles and shorter tapers? How does it indicate per the system, was my question.
