Folding BUIS for Armalite M15 gas block?

Alright fellas I need some help.
According to Troy at MI his front BUIS will not work on the Armalite M15 gas block.
Emailed him to find out why and no response.
Doing a bit of research the Armalite gas blocks are non standard height.
Anybody know for sure what will work and why?

This is odd because on Armalite's website, they picture a MI folder for a front sight option. It's listed for M-15s which is their AR15 designation.

Thats exactly what I thought as well.
But it looks like some of the folks over on TOS has had some issues with sighting in.Apparently MI had to make some new sight posts for them.
Honestly I dont know what to think...the email from Troy tossed a wrench in my gears and Ive been at a stand still since.
I think I will contact GG&G tuesday and see what they say.
Heck with it I will just order a set of sights from GG&G and find out for myself.

Contact Armalite and see what they have to say. You'd think they would know what the industry std is for gas block height, and if they are selling a folding BUIS on their site, that it would be compatible with their gas block.

The only other thing I'm wondering is if you need a taller post (e.g., BM .04 taller post) to get the height correct. But I have no idea if an AR post works in that MI BUIS or if it's some kind of proprietary post.

Yeah I guess I need to make some calls to Armalite and Troy at MI directly and see what I can find out for sure.
The only other info I have been able to find on the subject was a thread in MI forum on TOS where some folks were having a issues getting zero with the MI front BUIS on some of the AR10's.A different animal I know. But Troy did mention that the Armalite .223 gas blocks were a bit different in one of his posts.

FWIW, I noticed on Armalite's site they list two different flip up front BUIS's from MI, one specifically for their AR-15 line and one for their AR-10 line. So I could imagine if someone tried out a AR-15 front BUIS on an AR-10, that things might not work out entirely satisfactorily.

Since the AR10 has a taller receiver than an AR15 ArmaLite compensates for this in the railed gas block front sight height instead of making a completely AR10 specific rear sight. AR10 people probably appreciate it since they can then use any AR15 rear sight.

    gotm4,
What is the standard HOB for an AR15 gas block?

I checked the gas block on my M15A4 upper and its stamped EA1151.
Checked the Armalite website and they list the same part #EA1151 gas block for the AR10 and M15A4 standard barrels.
So Im even more confused. But if this is the case then that is what Troy at MI is talking about.
Got any further info on the subject?
    TIA

Every gas block is a different height, there is no standard. If you mean railed gas blocks then there's two different heights one is lower than the upper receiver (what you have) and one is at the same height as the upper receiver.

The reason the AR10 requires the taller front MI sight is because of the taller upper receiver. The AR10s upper receiver is taller than the AR15 upper receiver. Thus it requires a different front sight height off of the gas block.

The DPMS AP4 (.308s) that have railed gas blocks use standard AR15 rail height front sights. I guess DPMS didn't want to have to worry about odd sized front sights.

    Thanks for the info.
According to the information Im getting from the manufacturers so far,it seems the only answer to my question is to change the gas block if I want an accurate zero from a BUIS.
I guess thats the direction I will take and end it all.
