I'm not understanding this question. And I'm not sure if you are making the Troy connection, but the Troy that Blankwaffe is referring to is not Troy Industries, but an employee of MI named Troy. This individual claims Armalites gas blocks are machined to non-standard heights, and that's why MI's front BUIS doesn't allow a proper zero. Are you suggesting in the opening that Troy Industries makes proper sights and you should go with those instead of MI?
Blanwaffe subsequently measured the heigth of his gas block and it appears to be within a couple of thousandths as listed by Paul from Bravo Company, the inference being that Paul knows his stuff and that this Armalite gas block appears to be within industry standards.
Somewhere in the thread we got to talking about .308s, not sure where that crept in other than I mentioned Troy lists two different front BUISs, one engineered for .308s and one engineered for AR15s, and that if Blankwaffe got the wrong one, I could see where he could get into problems. Maybe I missed the conenction, but the discussion of the .308 phenomena seems to be clouding the issue. I swear, I need a program to keep up with this thread......
