The only 16" they make is the MK18 with the Arca-Swiss Quick Release System, their other rails are 15"

I'm sure that the OP can appreciate a nuanced answer like "it depends..." and will ignore the mouth breather replies of "15 looks better!" or "13 for no other reason than that's what I have!"

Simple for me...I shoot with arm extended to get close to end of 15" rail.

I generally hang lights on the FSB with a clamp-on Picatinny rail; works just fine, and the light is only installed as needed. Several carbines share several lights.
For looks, I prefer the Dissy, tho' the real issue is sight radius; I'm one of those antiques who likes irons. For irons, more sight radius makes a difference, whether with a FSB or mounted on the handguard.

I'm putting an 11" rail on an upper, just shaved the FSB down, and the front end is perfectly flush with the gas block. Midlength.

    So that works too.
