    Oh I get the idea...I just don't think it's practical. No way it cools enough in time to matter. I'd stick my barrel in an ice chest and then shake it out before I'd do this.

    I understand the "every lit bit helps" state of mind, but I'm with you. The area of the exterior barrel surface is much greater than bore surface area.
