Scribe or paint a line that crosses both the windage adjustment knob and the sight body so that you can tell if it has moved. I do this to most fasteners on my rifle to quickly and easily tell at a glance if something has moved/loosened.

Cool, that's what I assumed. What do you use to make this mark?

i use nail polish for witness marks, just because its free (I just use my girlfirend's) and because its easy to take off with a little nail polish remover. i put a little on a tooth pick and make a mark.

for those of you that use the larue buis, how does it compare to others specifically the arms #40l?

not really apples to apples but i'd rather use my Larue than my 40l. to me the 40l is slower to deploy (push down and flip back the retaining mechanism) than the larue (do nothing). the larue is exactly what it is advertised as, a BUIS for when your optic goes down. it's tough, non snag, and easily deployed. not much more to ask for.

Well it sounds like it's good to go. I'll probably pick one up soon.

The "simplicity" is what drew me in (plus the price and name).
