Damn, those prices are nuts....off the hook. I need to buy another one, before this all comes to an end somehow.![]()
Good night Chesty...wherever you are.
I don't know, it seems like it's harder to get details on the internals of the Savage than of the Ruger.... I can't find out if the firing pin is covered or if the bolt carrier is fully staked or pressure tested on the Savage, or how much of it is built here and how much of it is built in Chicom.
I agree that the mid-length gas system would probably be the decider... it's not like buying/installing the missing forward assist is that big of a deal.
Both are pretty good deals.... not $550 2010 Colt AR15 good, but still pretty damn good.
My main guns are all BCM/DD/etc.... but a $450 beater AR from a reliable manufacturer instead of the normal garbage is a steal. Perfect gun to pass to the idiot brother-in-law who wants to show you his "skillz" at the range right before he starts beating on your rifle like it's a hammer.

Yes the Ruger is a perfect beater or builder. Just wish they would get rid of that stupid "Colt cut" bolt carrier. And a lighter profile barrel would help. Heavy AR's are so 2011...
