    Update:

I was contacted by Ruger yesterday and they are going to take care of it. Unfortunately, I have to send them the whole rifle, and not just the bcg.

Seems odd they'd want the whole rifle back. Anyway, please let us know how things go.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I hope they are paying for shipping and insurance.

Different guns. The Takedown is piston-driven and does not have a separate gas key screwed to the carrier. Also the Takedown has a KeyMod forend, Samson folding sights, and a 2-stage "match" trigger and a Magpul stock.

The AR-556 is Ruger's budget entry-level gun. It has none of the features listed above.

Did you shoot the original out, or just change it?

I changed it out for a lightweight profile.

The original was accurate, etc but I didn't like the weight.
