I think that after all the 10s of thousands of rounds that have gone through this system, they have engineered the 'tilt' out of their rifle. I don't think they would have released it with that known bug if you know what I mean!!

Some more detailed pics of the rear of the carrier please.

Looks like a well thought out system. I need to start saving for one of the conversion kits for my MRP. Im also gonna have to send my MRP to LMT to have it updated with the metal sleeve inside of the gastube hole to be compatible with the piston system.

Does this need to be done to get the conversion? I also have the MRP but don't know what metal sleeve you're refering to.

    It depends....

I bought my MRP from Grant over 4 years ago, before LMT started developing their pistol system for the MRP. All of the recently manufactured MRP's included a metal sleeve inserted inside of the hole that the gas tube goes through. This was done to prevent wear from the steel piston rod to the aluminum of the receiver from the piston system. Im not sure exactly when they started installing the sleeves in the MRP's, but I believe if your MRP has the QD swivel mount above the barrel bolts you should be good-to-go. Dont take my word for it though. I would remove the barrel, and inspect yours to confirm.

Here mine, which you can see does not have the QD swivel mount above the barrel bolts:

SCHAWEET! YES YES, more pics of the BCG please.
I spoke with Ryan months ago, regarding the carrier tilt issue, and while he did not even hint to me what method LMT used at the time, he DID ASSURE me that LMT had COMPLETELY taken care of that issue, and that one should not worry in the least about carrier tilt...

Plus an H2 buffer for the piston kit...atleast according to the manual I got. Mine came with the normal same LMT manual they've had forever plus a "Piston Weapon System" manual that's 4 pages stapled together. In there it talks about the conversion kit.

Here are a few more pictures. I didn't get great ones so if you need something specific tell me quick before it gets dark.

The "wings" on the side of the BCG are different than the standard bolt from my LMT M4 next to it. They are the same dimension except for being shorter. I'd be interested to know the engineering reason for doing them like this instead of the single "wing" on each side of the BCG as before. Except for the gas key hitting a standard BCG will slide right in this upper, which makes sense since they'll be releasing a conversion for other MRP owners. Which brings up the question, if there is a problem with diving on other piston systems how do they fix it with a conversion?

Terrible picture..my apologies. If anyone wants a better shot just tell me.

One more thing. Someone educate me on why some piston ARs have problems with the BCG "diving".

It looks as though LMT did make provisions for the carrier tilt issue. Obviously the two "pads" at the bottom back of the carrier. integrally machined, very nice.
