M85 PAP Yugo AK Pistol In 5.56

I prioritized getting this review up because, as I've reported before, these are no longer being produced and what's in the country is all that there may ever be. So here's what I've found...

    Pros:
    -100% reliable to date
-seem to function with any mag I've tried to date although I do not recommend using Gen3 PMAGs
    -CHF CL barrel
-comes with a booster but functions fine with any muzzle device (or no muzzle device) that has 26mm threads
-bulged trunnion; not that it's needed but it's certainly nice to have
-fit and finish is above average for a com bloc produced AK
-takes AR mags which may be a con for some actually
-currently priced under $600 many places

    Cons:
-very narrow rear sight from the factory
-the short barrel means if you plan on using it for defensive use I'd be careful about which ammo you select to ensure it'll perform properly

thanks for the review - a Renegade forearm with your choice of red dot is a great way to improve upon the sights for that gun.

Agreed. My comments section is buzzing about the MI rails which I really like for everything besides PAPs. I like the co-witness on the PAPs just due to limited stock/brace options.

LGS has one of these hanging on the wall. Wonder if given the above it might be a worthwhile acquisition?
