I was asked to show my stamp at a range once when I was checking in to shoot.

I used to carry copies. I don't anymore. I've never been asked. I'd probably tell someone to pound sand if they did.

I just shot my Silencerco Hybrid for the first time. Just got my stamp back. I finished one mag through my Scorpion SBR and turned around and had the RSO in my face, the manager behind the glass flashing me with a flashlight and 4 others (3 shooters and 1 employee) staring at me. He kinda talked to me like I was a criminal. Didn't like it.

I'd find another range if it were me. THAT'S BULLSH*T.

Like Buford said. Find a better range and never give those asshats another dime.

I think I will take that advice. The guy made me show my paperwork (they had my license) and proceeded to try and relate how he has to "get on the SWAT guys" for bringing their duty weapons and firing them there as if that was going to make the situation better. I think they may be a bit full of themselves.

There are. This was just the new high tech one that originated in the big city about half an hour away and this was their new location. Thought I'd try them out. It was a nice building but I won't spend money there again

If it were me, I would have put my guns in the truck and then taken my license back. There's nothing that I hate more than a hypocrite, and that unfortunately seems to encompass half the firearms community.

NFA items of all kinds are fairly popular where I live/work/shoot and two of the three ranges of which I am a member are well-represented by LE agencies. I have never been asked, nor heard of anyone else being asked, to provide documentation. Most of the other LEOs and ROs are just jealous of my gear

Ironically, maybe, but the most rural range I attend is the most restrictive- no steel, no silhouettes, etc. Basically only paper punching allowed.
