    Fingerprints have not changed

It is not fingerprint Armageddon as reported by a popular firearms blog.

There's been much confusion over the new rules. A post by a noted firearms blog today further added to that confusion

Batf has not changed its rules on fingerprints for suppressors and other NFA items. If you look at the link that the popular firearms blog linked to, it goes to the explosive section of the batfe's website.

Fingerprints may still be done at the gun shops in electronic fingerprint vendors. They may also be done by law enforcement.

Since ATF has not reinterpreted the rules the silencer shop kiosk are good to go as are the electronic fingerprint vendors are the shops rolling the customers fingerprints themselves.

If there indeed has been a change, I will let you know. But this is the second or third version I've seen this year.

To sum it up, Carry on, nothing to see here.

The article is being retracted. It applies to explosives only.

The revised Form-1 I downloaded from the ATF website specifically says fingerprints must be on the blue line FBI Form FD-258. Can anyone confirm if this is only for SBRs or if suppressors need this as well?

    No duh!

I woke up to emails on my TexasGunTrust.com website and phone calls from gun trust clients and FFLS.

Thanks for the info, Sean. I'm glad to read this - the last time I was at Capital Armory, we filled out and signed seven cards. It would have been a pain for all involved to waste that time and effort.

Really nice folks there, by the way. Quite knowledgeable, and very easy to deal with.

All of the above. Been that way for years.

If you go on their website, you can request the cards for $Free.99. Got a stack of them at my desk
