I listened to the audio again and Billy Bush is laughing his head off. It's clear the whole thing was just barroom humor. Instead of saying locker room banter, Trump should have said, "I was trying to be funny and Billy Bush sure thought it was funny. Sorry if it fell flat with the American public."

That would have ended the damn thing almost immediately.
