    Great!

Which suppressor will you be using and what will the build look like?

Surefire 556-RC2. Just sent in the Form 4 last week sooo it's gonna be a while Haven't decided on the muzzle device yet. I'm torn between the War Comp or the standard 2 port brake. This is going to be a Recce style lightweight build.

Nothing is set in stone yet but leaning towards these:

    Balios Lite Lower
    Bootleg Inc Lightweight Upper
    13" BCM KMR A
    BCM Bolt
Gemtech Suppressed Carrier (torn between this and standard BCM BCG)
    Vltor A5 kit
    Geissele S3G (or SSA)
Bushnell SMRS 1-6.5 2FP BDC (Could change)
    Aero Precision Lightweight SPR Mount
    Magpul Pro BUIS
BCM Mod 1 pistol grip, stock & Mod 3 vert grip (all in Foliage Green)
    BCM 1" Keymod light mount
BCM Mod 4 CH & BCM ambi safety
    Surefire G2X Tactical
    Vickers "One" Sling
    Sionics LPK sans trigger
Foliage Green Cerakote on upper/lower/rail (I live in Eastern NC and everything around me is green)

Should be a nice do-it-all rifle. Looking forward to it. I'm gonna be shooting suppressed ~ 25% of the time with this rifle. Maybe less. Not sure if it's worth it to get the Gemtech carrier for this build. I do have Gemtech carriers in two of my current 11.5 builds. One is a 11.5 BCM upper/10" KMR and the other is based on the Sionics 11.5" reduced gas barrel (much like the 16" Optimum). Those will be shot suppressed 50-75% of the time so the juice is worth the squeeze to me on those guns.

The Gemtech carrier shouldn't be required.

With the OPTIMUM gas drive and the reduced back pressure of the RC2, a simple swap to an A5H3 or A5H4 buffer should get it done.

This is a better solution than that carrier.

So I got out today to confirm/reconfirm zero and the gun functioned flawlessly after installing the MicroTune block.
I went with the suggestion to go back to the A5H2 and Vltor spring. Now bear in mind, I liked how it cycled way better....it was quicker, with no "long pause" at full spring compression like when using a -4 and Sprinco. But it was throwing brass to 12:30/1:00 and 2 to 3 feet out using .223 69grn. FGMM. Should I try a different buffer, or throw the Sprinco back in? Is this even an issue of concern?

Didnt want to clog the board with yet another A5 thread, and didnt want to derail here.

So my apologizes...this seemed the better spot.

Sorry if I missed it before, but what was your prior action combination before using this Optimum barrel before adding the gas block?

This is the backend of the slight derail I started on pg.3 or 4. We were discussing buffers that might work with the Optimum barrel, and the conversation drifted to my particular situation. !6" middie barrel that needed taming with Clint's product. Before I installed his block, I was running a -4 and Sprinco.

Okay, still maybe gassed heavy though. More details may help on that.

Apologizes..the barrel had a .081 port. With Clints block, its now .076.

That ejection distance is poor. It may help to look into the bolt group for some possible issues. I do not use that action spring, for my own reasons. That gassing for a 16" barrel could likely use more mass.
