I had a friend put incense on a stump in front of his stand ( don't remember the fragrance) and shot a lot of deer but if the smell you use gets the attention of a doe or small buck and it finds you and runs off scaring your big buck it worked too good .The best bet is eliminate any odor you can and SKUNK him

Add to using scent free detergent, use a detergent that does not have UV brighteners. You'll find the detergent list gets pretty short pretty fast. Been reading studies, everyone knows not to wear anything blue because deer see that color really well. But what a lot of folks don't know or talk about much is that deer also see UV light really well in low light or night aituations, i.e. when you are sneaking into your spot. They see UV as bright blue. So if you wash your clothes in a detergent with standard UV brightners the gear looks clean to you and glows in the dark bright blue to the deer. One researcher said unknowingly you look light a bright blue light bulb hanging in the air as you sit in the tree.

I checked my hunting detergent and it does NOT use UV brighteners so I got lucky!

Which hunting detergent are you using? I have some Dead down wind stuff but not knowing any better I used the All scent free crap that I use for everything else, thought it was all the same. Now I am looking hard at the X-Out Odor detergent as it is both scent free AND no UV brightners. The cherry on top is it comes with UV blocker spray which I can use to get rid of the brighteners I unknowingly washed INTO all my cammo.
Just trying to get a straight answer in a twisted world.

Don't know if it's any better than anything else but it's odor free, no UV brighteners, and HE washer compatible.

That's the ticket. Thanks let me do a side by side comparison , price per oz etc. One big advantage, the scent away stuff is sold everywhere so save on shipping costs.
