    Classy Range Gun

Received a Don Williams gun back from Bob at AP&W.

Don built the series 70 (.45 ACP) to my specs, using parts I chose.
I had Don send it "in the white" so I could make any modifications I felt necessary (mods were nearly non-existent).
To say he did a fine job is an understatement.

Bob Cogan HC'd the frame and blued the slide.

I spent a day tweaking; trigger, grip safety, thumb safety, "shoe shining" pins so they'd fit back in the frame, etc.

Got to the range this AM to dial the pistol in.
My range load is a Zero 230 gr. JHP with N320, CCI LP primers and Speer brass (I have a butt load of it).

After getting dialed in, my final 8 rd. magazine from 25 yds. went 1.25", bench rested.
    It's a keeper.

Congrats on your new range toy. It's good when it works out.

I have always loved those two-toned guns. Back in the day, I had a Colt Combat Government that looked like that, it was a beloved companion.

May it bring you many years of happiness.

Very nice pistol. I, too, have always loved the two-tone Colts. That one looks like a keeper.

Looks like a very nice blued job to the slide too.

    It turned out nice, thanks.
AP&W does good finishing; HC, bluing and Ceracoat (which I never warmed up to).
I use H&M for melonite/nitride, but they won't do disassembly- the firearm must be sent stripped.
