    Simple Lightweight Carbine

So, this build is kind of strange, given the current trends in rifles/carbines. I had a lower that i built earlier this year just sitting waiting for an upper to complete it. The gun was built with the purpose of being a truck gun, lightweight and simple. Some of the parts were taken off guns i already owned.

    Parts list:
    -Umbrella Corp Lower Receiver
    -BCM LPK
    -BCM RE, spring, H buffer
    -Umbrella Corp Grip 23
    -BCM Upper Receiver
-Colt .625 16" Carbine Barrel with FSB (6720)
    -BCM KMR-A 7" Hand guard
    -BCM BCG
    -BCM Carry Handle
    -A2 Flashhider
    -Colt buttstock

I really like that build! Have you weighed it? I have to say, the parts selection and quality are exceptional.

I have not weighed the gun, as i do not have a scale to weigh accurately. As for the parts used, thanks for the compliment. I have used BCM or Colt parts in most of my builds.

    Very nice.

I get a lot of enjoyment out of my 653-type and 14.5" LW MOE-clad rifles.

    Everyone needs a KISS carbine.

I'm thinking about a build along these lines, myself, albeit with a lightweight (~12 oz) variable. Any thoughts as to an appropriate weight for the complete rifle?

Just to give you an idea, I built this one a few months ago. It weighs 6 lbs. 2.8 ozs. with an empty 30-rd. polymer magazine.
