They'll let you fly jets drive tanks launch missiles but if you want to buy a metal tube to screw on the end of a barrel we need to check you out for the next 8 months.

You optimist you. I'm 4 days from begining month nine. What really grinds me is that having rwo other NFA investigations in 2016 does not expedite the process at all. What a scam.
The beasts of modernism have mutated into the beasts of postmodernism—relativism into nihilism, amorality into immorality, irrationality into insanity, sexual deviancy into polymorphous perversity. And since then, generations of intelligent students under the guidance of their enlightened professors have looked into the abyss, have contemplated those beasts, and have said, “How interesting, how exciting.”

GOP reps introduce bill to eliminate paper trail/tax on suppressors

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...m-suppressors/

Representatives Jeff Duncan (R-SC-3) and John Carter (R-TX-31) introduced legislation on January 9 that will eliminate the paper trail and federal tax on firearm suppressors.
Suppressors are currently regulated under the National Firearms Act (1934) and thereby require law-abiding purchasers to go through the burdensome process of being photographed and fingerprinted.

The regulations also require the would-be purchaser to undergo a background check, register the device with the federal government, and pay the federal government a $200 tax. The process takes approximately six months–and all of this for a device that is not even a firearm.
So Duncan and Carter have put forward legislation to change the onerous purchasing process for suppressors. Their legislation would move suppressors outside of the NFA’s purview, “replacing the federal transfer process with a National Instant Criminal Background Check.” This would streamline the process of purchasing a suppressor, making it more convenient for gun owners and hunters in the 42 states where the use of suppressors is legal.

    My take: OH, YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I can deal with the tax, but I hate all of the BS paperwork and the waiting, not to mention all of the rules once you get the suppressor.

We need to be unified in our message: it's BS & we won't stand for it any longer. Some people say "I'll pay $200" while others say "I'll do a 4473" while others still are saying they'll pay an even higher fee to expedite the process. This fragmentation serves only to further confuse the situation. It's not a unified voice but instead a bunch of whimpers in the dark. No more compromise. No more being on the defensive & being reactionary. Taking a stand isn't even good enough. It's time WE went on the offensive. Ask for the world & make them ask for concessions. No more suggesting compromises for them. I'm sick & damn tired of this defeatist attitude in this community that's supposedly seen as a group of uncompromising & unyielding fighters.

AMEN. It's not a firearm. It's useless until it's attached to a firearm. Therefore it's like a barrel, an upper receiver, a bolt, or any other part.

I just emailed my congressman asking him to support this bill.
If you have not done so yet, do it now!
    This is a big deal.

Crossing fingers and hoping for passage. I don't care about money coming back......at this point considering how much income tax I have paid already in my life......the government is still way ahead.

    This.

We have mufflers at the end of our exhaust system, why can't we easily obtain suppressors so we can shoot like civilized people?
