Another Glock 17 Gen 4 question

From the time the Gen 4 came onto the market up until today, have there been any small tweaks/adjustments to the design?

    As I recall,
-initially, Glock had one recoil spring assembly (RSA) for both the G22gen4 and G17gen4. Then Glock came out with an RSA just for the G17gen4 (and G19gen4).
-the initial batch of Gen4 Glocks had only two additional backstraps; later two more with beavertails were introduced. The Gen4 frames were modified to have a small nub at the top rear to help the beavertail portion to stay in place.
    -the 9mm Gen4 guns used the now-still-gen3 "336" ejector; the 9mm Gen4 models now have a 30274 ejector.
-the G17/34gen4 originally did not have the RSA recess in the front of the slide. I also don't recall if Glock machined the recess into existing slides or entirely replaced such slides. I'm not even sure if these slides were sold in the USA or only in another country/countries.
-the RSA is also on its 4th revision. What I recall about the early RSAs were the spring would sometimes begin to come off the front of the RSA and the end of the spring would be sticking out the front of the slide.

I can't think of anything else right now.

I was looking over a new G17 in a gun store the other day. The slide was marked "AUSTRIA". Doesn't Glock make several of their models in their Georgia plant these days?

Yep, you may run into both Austria and USA marked models interchangeably.

ETA: Other than 42s/43s which are all USA made (not enough points for import).

I have a thread started in this forum about buying my first ever Glock pistol. Please, don't think of me hi-jacking this thread, but, seeking knowledgeable information.
I have shot a few Glocks several times, mainly the G17 and the G19. I want a G17, but, don't know enough about them to decide upon a Gen 3 or Gen 4. I can get the Gen 3, NIB, 2-17 rd mags, and all of the other items that go with it, for $488. The Gen 4, NIB, 3-17 rd mags, palm swell strips, $525. If they have fixed all of the bugs in the Gen 4, would you buy it over the Gen 3? Thanks!

I've heard that Gen 4's can be a bit more accurate then Gen 3's. Not sure whether that's factual or not.

    What are "palm swell strips"?
I've got both a Gen3 and a Gen4 G17. There's no need to choose between the two this way. I may get another Gen4, however, as the one I've got is actually owned by my employer.

They are the parts that you add onto the grip to make it fit your hand? Like I stated in my post I started in this forum, I have NEVER owned a Glock. This is why I am asking about which of the 2 Gen models to buy. I am a total noob to the Glock firearm.

Regarding Post #8, OK. Glock merely calls them "backstraps": https://store.teamglock.com/gun-part...ems/backstraps

I've found the Gen 4s to be pretty accurate, both with Speer Gold Dot, reloads, and plinking ammo. Accurate enough that I don't find myself wondering if a Gen3 would be better. I remember realizing it wasn't a challenge to hit the 8" plate at 40 yards free handed.
