I'm trying to continue building my skills with photography, and am at the point where I want to invest a bit more in infrastructure like a monolight. I've been using two LED panels, but neither are very large nor diffused like a big soft box would do. One of the questions I find myself battling with is whether I would be better off with in a continuous LED monolight or a strobe for photos. Do you have a preference?
Outdoor natural lighting is hard to beat if you have the room and good natural lighting. However, strobes are the way to go if you want control over your lighting. LED panels are nice, but they do not through enough light to really let you do want you want. They are nice to show you exactly how your light looks on the person or item, but they are best for video IMHO.
