    HK P30L light LEM 40 S&W opinions

For reference I own a VP9 and USP40. While I like the rock solid USP, the ergos leave a little to be desired after shooting the VP. Yes, I could just buy a VP40 but the P30L has always interested me. I hear light LEM is also the way to go.

If anyone has done a side by side of any of the three VP40, USP40 and P30L and care to share their thoughts that would be awesome.

"If force can take away liberty, force is necessary to preserve it. It is the hatred of violence alongside the willingness to use violence that preserves liberty. In order for us to live as free men, we have to hate the violence that takes away liberty, yet at the same time, we must embrace the violence that preserves it. That is the paradox our founders appreciated and made work for over 200 years."

I have a VP9, P30L V3 and several USPs(converted LEM and V1). I really like the P30 in the LEM config, I'm assuming you're just buying it just to have it(instead of CC or Competition type shooting). They're tack drivers with the longer sight radius with the L slide and you already love the egros on the VP so you'll be familiar with the P30. As for the LEM, I'm not sure if you've handled one, some people like and some don't. If you get a chance check out a LEM 4.1 as referenced by Montrala:

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the info.
Yes, this would be something just to have. No CC or comp.

One thing I meant to ask is the snappiness of the 40 easier to manage with the better ergos of the P30L vs the USP? I like my USP40 but think I would enjoy shooting the P30L just a bit more if so.

I could just get a P30L LEM in 9mm but I can't seem to find one and they seem to be getting more rare. Plus I can add a .40 P30L to my collection for a hundred or two dollars less.

I can't comment on the .40, but I do have a p30L 9mm light LEM, and a VP9. The p30L is perhaps slightly less recoiling, but it's not a drastic difference since the VP9 is so trackable as the pace picks up.

Mine is a 9mm but I've shot a P30S in a .40... it's still snappy but more comfortable to shoot. The L should tame the recoil just a tad but I don't think it'll be by much. One good thing about going to a 9mm is the VP9 and P30 series share the same mags so that's a win.
