I had one similar, i was sharpening an knife on my edge pro. The knife was held in place by a magnet with the edge toward me.

I reached behind the sharpener for some water to wet the stone and my palm went right into the blade.

12 stitches, very sharp, sliced me clean and pretty deep. So sharp I didn’t realize I was cut at first.

I cut myself so often sharpening knives my old lady says I should just get rid of them all.

Holy cow do I hear the same thing when I sharpen blades on my wicked edge, it seems I'm always getting cut and always getting lectured.

Stropping blades is much safer!!
