Just saw this as I was spending last week visiting family for Thanksgiving back in CA Shit that rifle on ARFCOM is definitely FUBAR!

I had 2 500rd boxes of Freedom left, I remember ordering 2000rds total from them back in 2013. The first 1000rds I shot back then had zero issues.

The first box 500rd box, I had 4 improperly crimped rounds possibly caused by geometry issues with the PMAG clone mags I was testing out. The mags worked fine before with multiple brands of ammo. Fire one round, the next one the bullet is set back deep into the case, happened 4 times in a row. A week later I was in the middle of the desert and I had one more box of 500rds I wanted to get rid of to make room for all the Wolf Gold I stock up on now. That batch is where I had 5 rounds with popped primers that all got stuck under my trigger assembly, forcing me to disassemble the trigger and disconnector to get the primers out. Good thing I brought my tool kit with me that day. Thinking back I should have stopped because picking up the brass many of them had signs of overpressure. I also had PMC Bronze with me which work great as expected.

After that, yes I won't be buying Freedom Munitions again. Ventura Munitions is local to me and their reloads are excellent, and they have great prices on Wolf Gold and other factory ammo overall as well.

Different ammunition ejects differently. If you want piece of mind you can upgrade your extractor spring with the BCM enhanced extractor spring.

I have found that the ejector is what determines extraction angle much more than the extractor.

Ugh....I have a considerable amount of Freedom, but haven't experienced any issues yet.... This is not good. I started looking into a Wolf Gold, PMC, and another Russian brand Przny something... buying this brands sounds like a good move. Bu just hope that my older stuff is GTG..

Honestly, I went with Gold Dot. Very accurate and pulls double duty for deer/HD/etc. For 0.40 cents a round, I felt it was worth the 3-5 cent per shot premium.

.40/round isn't a bad price at all. Any particular online vendor you buy from?
One of the guys on the forum tuned me into the Armory out of VA, but it's hit or miss if they have stock.

I got that from bone frog club. It's 55gr, but hell, it beats m193 in darn near every way. My go-to round is 75gr gdsp. It shoot a 1-1.5moa from my Daniel defense with a nightforce 1-4 on top. Kills stuff dead. Expands like a beast and penetrates and retains mass quite well, passes all the fbi criteria with flying colors. Costs a but more than the 55gr though, and I load 55gr for HD, as I don't need or want the pent ration of the 75gr stuff in my current abode.

I hope so too. I didn't even bother contacting Freedom, just finished what I had left and said never again.
All I buy now is Wolf Gold, that will be my range and backup defensive ammo if somehow I run out of all my MK262 and Speer Gold Dot. I still got thousands of PMC Bronze & X-Tac, IMI 55gr, and Federal M193 that comes in stripper clips stored away as I never had any issues with any of those rounds over the years. I also recently got a 1600rd crate of 91 dated Norinco 223 I got in a trade.

Even underpowered Wolf Poly 223 and Tula are better than Freedom's crap, and they have the perfect 3-4 o clock ejection in one of my rifles lol

Was this recent? I'm not a member there, and was unable to find the thread. Saw two KB threads, but neither relating to FM. One was using TNT Munitions, and the other was a handloader. I know you can't post a link to ARFCOM, but any assistance in locating the thread would be appreciated.

I did not know the man quoted above, and joined this Forum after his passing. He seemed to be a leader of men; both spiritually and physically. Someone we'd all be proud to emulate.
