    P&S rails

What's the deal with these? Much cheaper than KAC, fills .mil contracts, are they the same in terms of quality?

I have a set of these and I cannot tell much of any difference in quality in comparison to the KAC.

timely thread, as i was just wondering this myself. I was looking to get a set of KAC rails for my colt A4, when I discovered that P&S has the military contract as well...As much as I'd like to have some KAC stuff on that rifle, the price difference is significant enough that Im going with P&S.

I have a set on my duty 6920. I cant tell the difference between them and a KAC model.

The one on my issued rifle had a significant amount of movement on the bottom rail. Other than that it seemed of good quality. Lights, laser, and rail covers had no issues being attached/detached.

At the conclusion of the RAS contract, the government purchased the RAS TDP from KAC.
They contracted P&S to produce the M4 and M5 RAS for government purchase.
I tend to still get a lot of M4 RAS orders for some reason...

Nope. We generally don't do direct commercial sales.

My Google-Fu must suck. When I search for a P&S Rifle length RAS I get either some shady ass website or an expired EBay listing. Id totally pick up up for the price for an M16A4 clone, was going to order a BCM 20" upper in the spring anyway.

There are noticeable differences between the P&S and KAC RAS. One of the first things I noticed was the edges on the P&S rails are razor sharp compared to the KAC RAS. Bottom rail seems to be looser on the P&S as well.
