    Glock 17Ls back in stock

For those who are interested...just got my notification email a bit ago. Seems Glock is making another run.

Cheapest I've found so far is Grabagun at $595 with $6 shipping:
    https://grabagun.com/glock-g17l-9mm-as-6-0-17-1.html

Buds is $657 with their "cash discount (aka no credit card fee) price".

They all disappeared all of a sudden. Multiple vendors were showing them in stock yesterday afternoon, then later in the day, they were no longer available. More like taken out of inventory rather than sold out. Maybe an error on someone's part? Regardless, I hope they come back, I was really thinking about one.

I dunno. 17Ls go fast because they really have discontinued them and were never made in large quantities. Once word is out, even the casual Glockophile will be all over it. This may have been a run of NOS they had.

For the record, I don't know this vendor, but this is the only place Slickguns still shows in stock:

I don't think they're discontinued as people have said this in the past. I think they are still limited runs.

I kind of hope a run of 24's becomes available. Sadly the 17L actually has little place in competition

I confirmed today with one of the vendors that it was a glitch in their system. I can understand them going fast but this was too fast.

Agreed, I think they are still limited runs. I last saw a 17L at a gun show about 1.5 years ago.

I found my 24 in a gun shop (shortly after moving to the area) in early 2014. It was made in 2011. I had never seen one in person and jumped right on it. Neither the 17L nor the 24 are for competitions anymore, but I will say I enjoy shooting my 24 more than my 35 Gen 4. For a range toy, it's a lot of fun. I personally don't shoot competitions, but for those who do, a 34 or 35 is a better fit.

I had a 17L for quite a while. I liked it because it was different (for a Glock that is), but I shoot my regular 17 and 19 much better. I ended up selling it and put the money towards my SR15.

If it was a glitch, it was a glitch.

FWIW I called about 17Ls two years back as I wanted (and eventually got, albeit older model) one and guy at Glock said that new production was highly unlikely.

I don't know what the deal is but the Glock guy seemed pretty emphatic. And said "Why not just get a G34?"

Which I have. My G17s sit and collect dust. I much prefer the 34 if CCW is not a concern.

The 17L, however, is the perfect Glock IMO. Perhaps it isn't concealable and has a 6" barrel, but it is by far the better all around Glock for, as cliche as it sounds, shootability.

It's an interesting paper puncher but moreso I just like how it points.

G34 comes close but not quite like the 17L.

I've been told the Sig X Five is similar (maybe better) but I have not shot one.

I just like a longer sight radius if I am shooting on my own time.

    YMMV

Firefly when you put RMR on your slide the 17 may be all you need.

But Always wondered why it wasn't the 34L.
