    9mm/300BO Can?

I am picking up a new can from Silencerco. I already have an Omega for 308 and 556 and want to pick up a can for 9mm and 300bo. This can will likely see time on a Scorpion and 8-9" 300bo AR. I want as small a can as possible while maintaining safe hearing levels without hearing protection. It may go on a 9mm pistol until I can afford a dedicated pistol can.

Hybrid- same size as Omega- I feel like that's too big...
9k- is it really quiet enough to be hearing safe? Is the OD too big for a pistol can?
Octane- I'd have to stick to 300bo Subsonic ammo. OK for HD?

The Omega might be the best of what SiCo has for 300BLK, in terms of noise suppression anyway. Is it still too big in direct thread with no anchor brake? If you think you will suppress rifle calibers bigger than 308 maybe look hard at the Hybrid. If not, consider the Griffin Armament Revolution 9. You already have an omega, can you try that before you buy something else? I'm guessing the new can has to be SiCo?

I could use my Omega for 300BO, but I figured that 300 is going to be quieter than 308 so I wouldn't need as much sound suppression.

I don't have a use for anything larger than 308.

New can has to be SiCo.

SiCo shows pics of the 9k on a pistol. It's probably a matter of sights and what you want in a pistol can.

On my 300, the 9k is noticeably light compared to the Omega. Hearing safe is close with subs. It's almost two inches shorter than the Omega when both are in their shortest configurations. I expected it to be a lot louder at the ear compared to the Omega based on early reports. I'm glad I have it for HD and hunting purposes.

    omega & hybrid ok for 300 super/sub

omega9k and octance only 300 subsonic

I would get the 9k. video on youtube showing omega 9k being used on a 300blk and shows db data. I like mines its comfortable

hardly a difference between octane 9 and omega 9k from the shooters ear using 9mm subs and supers. sico told me on the phone the omega 9k is good on 300BO supers down to 7.5" barrel using 1:7 twist or faster. omega 9k diameter is the same as a regular omega. 9k is heavier than an octane 9 though and limits hand guard options.

i think troys new m lok, AP handguards, spikes bar/sar, JP modular, and midwest industries SP series are the only ones that will fit the omega or omega 9k.

oh, 9k is only direct thread or tri lug. no asr mount

9k on a pistol requires suppressor height sights. they will not clear, but are flush with the top center of the can.

300blk subs are similar to pistol rounds, and I'd not use for hd given the choice.

I find that a suppressor blocking the sights does not affect accuracy much at all.

    Here's my 9k under a falkor rail.

I use Lehigh defense subs for HD. They are more than a pistol round.

I have personally seen 220 subs straight through a deer. I think the BC makes it much more than a 45 ACP, especially past 100 yards.

This is incorrect, the Omega 9K can handle 300 supers. The Octane is subs only.
